Enjoy the peace and quiet of an out-of-town location, while only minutes from Grand Lake Village and across from Shadow Mountain Lake. The lodge features 17 individual rooms, a main lodge area, an outdoor heated pool, outdoor hot tub, indoor hot tub and sauna, plus astounding mountain views. All rooms are equipped with color cable TV and direct dial phone with free local calls. Some rooms have kitchenettes. Picnic tables, grills, swing sets and horseshoes are available on the Black Bear property for our guests.
Guests enjoy the rustic mountain atmosphere of the main lodge room, the perfect place to read, relax with a cup of hot coffee and watch for wildlife. We are a short five minute drive to the west entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park.
WINTER ACTIVITIES - GRAND LAKE is the "Snowmobile Capital of Colorado" Family Snowmobiling: There are over 130 miles of snowmobiling trails ranging from tracks through the forest to wide-open mountain meadows surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Cross - country skiing and Ice fishing are available nearby, along with downhill skiing and snowboarding at Sol Vista Ski Area (20 miles away) and at Winter Park Ski Area (35 minutes away).
SUMMER ACTIVITIES - In the summertime, you will be able to go fishing, boating, horseback riding, or hiking on any of several trails, all of which are located within minutes of our lodge. Also located nearby is one of the finest golf courses available.
